Well, kind of….
My responsibilities as a World Race Adviser are changing a bit and I am stepping partially into a new role!
Up until this point, my role as a World Race Adviser was to help people through the application process for the World Race. Then, upon acceptance, I help them get ready to go out onto the field by advising them about fundraising, getting them ready for training camp, and helping launch them on their journey!
Once those people left for their first month on the missions field however, I handed them off to their capable leaders who were traveling with them on the field, as well as their main point of contact back in the office, their World Race Mentor.
And that is partly what I am stepping into this fall. Not only will I be a World Race Adviser, but I will also be Co-Mentoring a World Race squad as they go out onto the field. This means that instead of handing off a squad once they launch on their 11 month journey, I will be journeying with them for the 11 months!
No, I’m not ACTUALLY traveling with them for 11 months, but I will be helping out their Mentor with supporting the squad and their leadership while they are on the field. This will consist of:
– Weekly calls to the leadership of the squad to see how the squad is doing
– Addressing any issues that come up withing the squad or ministry
– Making sure everything is running smoothly for them on the field as their representatives back in the Adventures office.
– Being part of our leadership meetings to make sure the squad is doing well and is in a healthy place
– Going out onto the field with the squad several times on their journey to facilitate debriefs which include checking in with each team, all the leaders and facilitating teachings for the squad as they continue their journey.
– Doing ministry with the squad before or after debriefs. Before or after debriefs there is the option to stay on the field to do ministry with the squad for a couple weeks.
Since I am Co-Mentoring(and am still walking in my role as as World Race Advisor) I am not carrying the main load and responsibility for the squad. My main role is to build relationships with the squad and support Amy, their World Race Mentor.

This is the first time that we have ever had a World Race Mentor who also has a Co-Mentor to help them out. So the responsibilities I listed above are always subject to change as the year progresses, but I am still excited to continue to walk out this new thing the Lord is doing!
Thanks for continuing in following me on this wonderful journey the Lord has me on down here in Gainesville, GA!
Peace and Blessings!
SOMPROUD OF YOU & EXCITED FOR THIS NEW JOURNEY!! God Bless!
Sounds like a great job and I know that you will be a great co-mentor!
You’re going to do great just as you have been. I love that you’re doing what God is calling you to do!
Thanks Keara! It is great to hear from you! I hope all is going well!
